Frequently Asked Questions

How much do therapy sessions cost?

I charge $180 for a 50-minute session.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance at this time. You may request a superbill to provide to your health insurance for possible reimbursement. Contact your insurance plan and inquire about your benefits.

What is a superbill?

Each session is paid up front, then at the end of the month I provide a superbill. A superbill is like a receipt for your therapy sessions that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Since I am an out-of-network provider, I don’t bill your insurance directly, but a superbill gives you the option to request partial reimbursement if your plan covers out-of-network therapy.

How Does It Work?

  1. I provide you with a superbill – This document includes details like the session date, length, and a required diagnosis code.

  2. You submit it to your insurance – Check with your insurance provider to see if they cover out-of-network therapy and how to submit claims.

  3. You may receive reimbursement – If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, they may reimburse you for a portion of the session cost.

Questions to consider asking your insurance company:

  • Are my benefits running on a calendar (Jan-Dec) or fiscal year (July-June)?

  • What is my individual out-of-network deductible? Has it been met?

  • What is my reimbursement rate/percentage for an out-of-network provider once the deductible is met for individual therapy?

  • Is there a limit on the number of sessions my plan covers in a year? Where do I mail my superbill/medical receipt?

Do you see children?

Not at this time. I currently only work with adults.

Would we be a good fit?

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the healing process. I offer a free 15-minute consultation call to explore whether we would be a good fit. This is a chance for us to connect, discuss what you're looking for in therapy, and see if my approach aligns with your needs.

I work best with individuals who are ready to make meaningful changes and are navigating challenges that fall within my areas of expertise. If your needs fall outside my training and experience, I will do my best to provide referrals to a therapist who may be a better fit.

If you’re interested in working together, I’d love to connect! Schedule your free consultation to take the next step.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that life happens, and sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled. If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your scheduled session, or missed appointments, will be charged the full session fee of $180. This policy helps me honor my time and ensure availability for other clients in need of support.

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical or mental health treatment will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your healthcare provider, or any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit https://www.cms.gov/medical-bill-rights/help/guides/good-faith-estimate.
